Strength in Community. Burma Firewise.

We are inviting you to participate in our Burma Road Firewise community. Firewise® is a voluntary program that provides a framework to help neighbors get organized, find direction, and take action to increase the ignition resistance of their homes and community.

Prevention is the best preservation.

Most homes that burn during a wildfire are ignited by embers or firebrands landing on the roof, in gutters, on or under decks, porches, vents or other openings in the home. Other homes burn from small flames (surface fires) that can touch the house – such as dry grass that can allow a fire to run right up to the siding. There are steps that homeowners can take to reduce these risks. The Firewise Communities Program is a great place to find resources and create action steps you can use around your home and landscape.

Ready to take the next step?

The Burma Rd. Firewise Community has recently been formed and we are inviting your participation. Our goal is to increase communication among neighbors and our Fire Department, promote fire safety education, and organize risk reduction projects. All of this is ahead, but for now we are just introducing the concept of a Firewise Community to our neighborhood. If we can have your contact information, it will make communication much easier. We will use this information only for FWC purposes.
